Guided tour of the efficiency factory

Energy and resource efficiency within production has many facets – the savings and efficiency potentials are as diverse and complex as they are. There are interesting starting points from energy supply to consumers in the production processes.

The efficiency factory serves to demonstrate potential savings and at the same time to research further technologies to increase efficiency. The central starting points and potentials are considered.

effizienzfabrik

The efficiency factory provides answers to the following questions

  • Where is there potential to achieve savings and reduce energy costs?
  • What methods and technologies are there to increase energy efficiency?
  • What savings can be achieved and how economical are they?
  • How can this be transferred to our company and what effects does it have?

It is especially important that not only individual cases are demonstrated, but that there is the possibility to represent the real situation and the existing requirements of the respective company in the energy efficiency factory in order to derive and evaluate concrete measures.

Factory tour

A tour of the factory leads from the energy supply via the conversion and distribution of the energy for production to the consumer:

  • Plant for decentralised energy supply (combined heat, power and refrigeration) with simulation and testing system for the investigation of various applications
  • Model and simulation plant for production in air-conditioned rooms with simulation of different climatic conditions and different application scenarios
  • Demonstration plant for the comparison of pneumatic and electric drives
  • Plant for demonstrating leakages in the compressed air network and model and test plant for absorption refrigeration technology
  • Thermally heated blown film extruder with oil heating system
  • Model plant for the representation and optimization of heat losses by radiation
  • Demonstration system for energy efficiency monitoring and evaluation
  • Model plant for the development of KW(K)K production processes
  • Simulation system for planning and optimising the energy efficiency of energy plants
  • Pilot plant for gas heating of extruders and injection moulding machines

The concept of the efficiency factory offers a unique insight into the manifold efficiency and savings potentials in an industrial context.
