Third-party funding and funding projects

Environmental impacts, decentralised energy supply and energy efficiency are current topics in industry, science and research. This is mainly due to climate change and rising fossil fuel prices.

The Federal Republic of Germany has recognised this and has set itself the target of saving 20 percent primary energy by 2020 compared to 1990. In order to implement this ambitious project, the Federal Government and the Länder support research projects in these areas.

As a university institute, we carry out third-party funded projects with a volume of approximately 1 million euros per year. This allows us to look back on a wealth of experience in the application and implementation of scientific projects.

Contract research

Contract research differs from our externally funded research in that no public funding from the federal or state governments is involved in the project. At first glance, this seems to be a mistake, but for some companies it is also a decisive advantage, as there is no need for lengthy and complicated application processes via the public sector.

As a result, contract research is particularly suitable for smaller projects with short lead times.
