Energy Efficiency starts here

The Department of Sustainable Products and Processes (upp) at the University of Kassel has been working in the field of energy and resource efficiency and decentralised and renewable energies in various research and industrial projects for more than 10 years.

The research in this field is interdisciplinary with a holistic and global view of production buildings, products and processes over their entire life cycle. Technological progress is not just oriented towards economic benefits, but also equally takes into account social and environmental values in the sense of sustainable development. The research activities are divided into the following 4 topics:

  1. Climate, energy and resource-efficient production
  2. Recording, evaluation and benchmarking of energy data
  3. Flexible power supply and load management
  4. Energy concepts and energy services

The methodology is holistic, from the process to the energy supply.

More detailed information on the 4 topic areas can be found under the menu item “Our research”.
